Description
Set of two pen holders
Made of carved wood and metal. The circular wooden bodies feature a relief carving of the first name ‘EUGENIE’ and the surname ‘Joffre’ on the reverse; one features a ring encircling the shaft, a sprig and a double decorative frieze winding around it. The end is finished with a horseshoe. The second bears the first name ‘CATHERINE’, along with the date ‘1915’ and the surname ‘JOFFRE’, set against a background of flowers and leaves arranged in a bouquet, hearts and a four-leaf clover. The end is finished with a horse’s hoof, decorated with a flower and the initials ‘RL’. Metal feathers on both.
