Wedding laundry beater Made of weathered wood, from a single piece, with green and red highlights. Circular panel featuring a carved openwork design, centred on a star adorned with a small flower, surrounded by the name ‘Victorine Galle’ and a series of stars and rosettes within circles, arranged alternately, and finally a frieze decorated with a diamond-patterned trellis. The handle is round in cross-section and bears the date ‘1879’ carved at the point where it joins the shaft.
