Shepherd’s crook Made of wood (hazel?) and wrought iron. A crook with a curved pommel, used to catch a runaway animal. The other end is fitted with a small shovel (or spoon), with a socket for the handle, used to throw a small amount of earth at an animal that was trying to escape. The shovel bears a barely legible blacksmith’s mark (‘ARNOI’? or ‘ARHOI’?). 19th century H. 125.5 cm One small hole
