Secret-opening box Made of stained, carved and engraved oak and metal. Rectangular in shape, it is entirely adorned with interlocking rosettes on the lid, and features a church with a bell tower, flanked by two large trees, carved on the front panel. One side features the same decoration as the lid, whilst the other bears a very elegant foliage-adorned finial. Metal hinges and a locking mechanism with concealed cogs. Auvergne, 19th century H. 17.5 cm – W. 42.8 cm – D. 17.3 cm Small areas missing along the edge of the lid and at the base, and pitting.
