Pipe case Made of mahogany and cut brass. The top consists of a lid with a latch (which closes), the surface of which is decorated with an engraved flower, complemented by two leafy stems set against a background of half-dots on both opening sections. The rim of the lid is adorned with two long bands bearing inscriptions in Dutch: ‘Al mot bip min soldies te se mem drinken en glas mein (?)’, accompanied by the date ‘1749’ engraved near the hinge. The spout is decorated with mouldings embellished with rings. Netherlands, mid-18th century H. 23 cm
