Description
Processional lantern
Made of sheet metal. A movable design, with a slip-fit socket. Hexagonal body, topped by a domed finial and a cross. Blind-sided design with openwork sides featuring stylised florets created using nail-marking, dots and triangles. The doors are adorned with friezes of hearts in the spandrels. One door has a secret compartment secured by a rod. Bears the inscription: ‘FAIT*A*BAUJEU*PAR*ZACHEO*EN*1806’
