Description
Alsatian-style walking stick
Made of wood and iron. The pommel is carved in the shape of a swan’s neck, continuing down the shaft with a relief carving of an Alsatian woman wearing a headdress with a large black bow, holding a bouquet with large branches in her hands and wearing an apron over her pleated skirt. She is positioned on the corolla of a flower serving as a plinth. Some elements of the decoration are blackened. The remainder of the shaft is decorated with a branch of ivy winding round it and ending in an ornate ferrule.
