Description
Walking stick
Made of carved and engraved wood, copper, wrought iron and glass. The knob is shaped like the head of a bearded monk with a tonsure. His eyes are made of glass. Along the shaft, the following inscription winds round: ‘BERNARD PORTET to his friend ABEL 1895’, complemented by what appear to be decorative ribbons. It is finished with a copper ferrule and a wrought-iron tip. A hole beneath the pommel allows a wrist strap to be threaded through.
H. 87.5 cm
A chip has been repaired at the lower section.
