Goldsmith’s anvil
Made of wrought iron and wood. The anvil rests on a wooden base, carved from a single piece of wood, with a rectangular base and bevelled edges. The sides are decorated with three small flowers within a medallion outlined by a line of dots, the owner’s initials ‘HD’ rendered in micro-riveting, a floral motif within a medallion outlined by a line of dots, and a three-leaf clover.
19th century for the base (the anvil may be older).
