Florist’s display stand
Made of iron. Consisting of three stacked shelves, with a pediment bearing the initials ‘SE’ in a centred oval, complemented by flower stems with corollas. The structure is entirely decorated with flower stems, scrolls, Greek motifs, a basin holding a fire, stylised water leaves and other decorative motifs. Bears the Latin inscription: ‘LABOR OMNIA VINCIT’ (which can be translated as ‘labour conquers all’). Bears the maker’s signature on the reverse: ‘ STEPHANE STEZLE’ and the date ‘MDCCCLXXIX’ (1879).
