Philippe-Joseph BROCARD (1831–1896) 1868 A tall vase in transparent, sea-green-tinted blown glass, with a spinning-top-shaped body resting on a truncated conical base and a long soliflore neck ringed with green glass. Rich decoration in polychrome hard enamels and gold, featuring arabesques, foliage, fleurs-de-lis in medallions and birds in reserved areas. Signed, marked with the maker’s mark and dated “Brocard Paris 1868” in red enamel, beneath the base. H: 52 cm A light green-tinted glass vase made by Joseph Brocard in 1868, with a rich polychromatic and gold-enamelled decoration of arabesques, scrolls, lilies in medallions and birds. Red-enamelled “Brocard Paris 1868” signature and date, beneath the base. H: 20.47 inches
