Ovoid vase in multi-layered, variegated pink glass, with a painted decoration featuring intercalated enamels of dahlias in bud and bloom, in shades of pinkish-white, green and brown, engraved in reserve, finely chiselled on the lathe and gilded against a partially hammered background.
Signed in gold beneath the base “Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine BS & C° déposé” with the Cross of Lorraine and a thistle.

An ‘Dahlias’ egg-shaped, pink-tinted, multi-layered glass vase by Burgun & Schverer (Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine) circa 1895–1903, featuring an interlayer enamelled decoration of flowers and leaves, etched, gilded and outlined with a wheel on an acid-frosted background. Gold-painted “Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine BS & C° déposé” signature beneath the base, featuring the Lorraine thistle and Cross.
