Description
BURGUN SCHVERER (Lorraine Art Glassworks) Circa 1900 Single-flower vase in double-coloured violet-mauve glass, with a slightly flattened, bulbous body and a long, straight, flared neck. Decor featuring flowering branches, painted in polychrome hard enamels and gold, cut out with a wheel and engraved on a partially hammered background. Signed “Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine. BS & C°. Déposé” with the Cross of Lorraine and thistles, beneath the base. H: 13.5 cm A purple-mauve tinted double-layered glass vase by Burgun Schverer (Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine) circa 1900, with a polychromatic and gold enamelled interlayer decoration of flowering branches, outlined with a wheel and etched on a hammered background. Signed “Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine. BS & C°. Déposé” with the Cross of Lorraine and thistles, beneath the base. H: 5.31 inches
