BURGUN SCHVERER (Lorraine Art Glassworks)
“Laurier rose”
circa 1897
An ovoid-shaped double-walled glass vase decorated with flowering branches, deeply engraved in cameo style on interlayered polychrome enamels and entirely ground with a wheel on a partially hammered background.
Neck and base in gilded brass, ornately worked with plant motifs.
Engraved and gilded signature within a thistle and a Cross of Lorraine: “Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine B.S.C déposé”, beneath the base.

A “Laurier rose” (“Oleander”) double-layer glass vase by Burgun Schverer (Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine) from around 1897, with a deeply etched and gilded decoration, ground down with a wheel on a partially hammered background. Signed within a thistle and the Cross of Lorraine as “Verrerie d’Art de Lorraine B.S.C. déposé” beneath the base.
