A ribbed, cylindrical vase with scalloped edges and serrated feet, made of lightly smoked crystal, featuring engraved and polychrome enamelled decoration of leaves and field herbs highlighted in gold.
Engraved signature “E. Gallé Nancy” on the underside of the base.

An “Herbes des Champs” (“Field Herbs”) smoked crystal vase designed by Émile Gallé from around 1884–1889, featuring a finely etched, polychrome and gold-enamelled decoration. Signed “E. Gallé Nancy”, beneath the base.
