Emile GALLE (1846–1904) “Cucurbitaceae” Circa 1900 Large single-flower vase in transparent amber glass, with a bulbous lower section, a circular neck and deep-engraved decoration of leaves and fruit, enamelled in polychrome and accented with gold, on a background partially etched with acid. Signed “Gallé” in reserve, within the decoration. H: 46.5 cm An “Cucurbitacées” (“Cucurbitaceae”) amber-tinted glass vase designed by Émile Gallé around 1900, with a deeply etched, polychrome and gold-enamelled decoration of fruits and leaves on a partially acid-frosted background.
