Emile GALLE (1846–1904) “Ophris” An ovoid vase with a flattened body resting on a foot and a flared neck, made of smoky green crystal with a powdered finish, interspersed with shades of red, and decorated with an ophrys motif engraved in reserve, polychrome enamelled and enhanced with gold, featuring cabochon stones. Engraved signature on the underside: “Cristallerie d’Emile Gallé modèle et décor déposés”. H: 12 cm, DL: 14.5 cm An egg-shaped smoky green glass vase designed by Emile Gallé, with a flattened belly and a flared neck, featuring an interlayer of red powders. Etched, polychrome and gold-enamelled floral decoration, with hot-applied glass cabochons. “Cristallerie d’Emile Gallé modèle et décor déposés” signature on the underside of the base.
