Emile GALLÉ (1846–1904) “Sorrel and Thistles” Circa 1889–1892 A tubular vase in grey/blue-tinted crystal, with colours that are more opalescent and vivid towards the neck and forming light blue “Venetian ribs” in the lower section, with a design engraved in fine reserve and polychrome enamelling. Engraved signature “Emile Gallé déposé”, within a flower beneath the base. H: 26 cm A “Sorrel and thistles” (“Sorrel and Thistles”) grey/blue tinted crystal vase designed by Emile Gallé around 1889–1892, with colours that are more opalescent and vivid towards the neck and forming light blue “Venetian ribs” in the lower part, featuring a finely etched and polychromatic enamelled decoration. Signed “Emile Gallé déposé” beneath the base, within a flower. H: 10.24 inches
