Emile GALLE (1846–1904) “Ancolies” A multi-layered glass vase with a wide, hot-formed, multi-lobed neck, flared into five points to form a stylised corolla. Engraved decoration in bright reserve technique featuring foliage and columbine flowers in shades of violet, mauve and wine lees, set against stylised trees, all on a slightly acid-frosted background. Signed “Gallé” in reserve, within the decoration. H: 20 cm A “Aquilegias” multilayer glass vase, with an etched design of purple, mauve and wine-coloured columbine flowers, foliage and stylised trees on a slightly acid-frosted background. Signed “Gallé” within the design. H: 7.87 inches
