Ronald SEARLE (1920–2011) ‘Duck Tears’ Indian ink, 33 x 25 cm (frame 43 x 35 cm), signed lower right and inscribed lower left: ‘For my friend Marcel Haedrich – Paris, 18 November 1968’. Included is the book ‘Ces merveilleux fous volants dans leurs drôles de machines’ (Those Wonderful Madmen Flying in Their Funny Machines), drawings by Ronald Searle. Published by Stock, 1965. British cartoonist and illustrator for the satirical magazine *Punch* and the newspapers *Tribune*, *Sunday Express* and *News Chronicle*. He also contributed to the American magazines *The New Yorker* and *Life*, and the French newspaper *Le Monde*. He inspired several Hollywood films and books, for which he designed the posters.
