SEVRES 19th century
Porcelain toiletry set with polychrome decoration of semis of florets and gold net including a brocade and its circular bowl, a sponge box, a brush box, a soap box.
Marked: S. 55 in green and N crowned, gilded at Sèvres 55 in red.
Napoleon III period, 1855.
Dimensions: jug (height 24.5 cm), bowl (diam. 39.5 cm), sponge box (diam. 17.5 cm), soap box (13 x 10 cm), brush box (21.5 x 9 cm).
A toilet set comprising the same items plus a pair of candlesticks, snuffers and a hot water jug, made for Queen Victoria's stay at the Château de Saint-Cloud in 1855, is held in the national furniture collections (see A. d'Arjuzon, O.
