France, late 19th? early 20th? century
Wooden and painted metal model of a traditional French threshing machine from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
It features a main box painted red and blue, mounted on metal wheels, with a transmission system comprising pulleys, axles and mechanical elements. A hopper or grain lift is shown at the top and it has 4 wheels, 2 of which steer. The sides and front are decorated with a medallion in relief depicting Cérès, a republican and agricultural symbol typical of French production at the end of the 19th century.
A fine piece of work, probably produced for educational, demonstration or exhibition purposes.
Good condition, with wear and patina.
