Description
Blackened wood desk. The top, with its rounded corners, is encircled by a moulding forming a "cavet" and a "bec de corbin". The waist is curved to accommodate three arched drawers inlaid with brass fillets. The curved base is inlaid with fillets and features bronze acanthus and goat hooves. Ornamented with drop handles and escutcheons. Parisian work from the first half of the 18th century. NB: Later metalwork. Ornamentation of small side masks probably added. One inside slide detached. Height 75.5 - Depth 74 - Width 130 cm.
