Description
17th century Antwerp cabinet on a later base. The sides and top are veneered with rosewood, the front with red-tinted tortoiseshell. It has an architectural front. The central part is embellished with a pediment topped by a small bust in chased and gilded bronze. The chapel in the centre of the door features an angel and two detached columns with Corinthian capitals. The front opens to reveal ten drawers. The central door conceals a small pedestal with three drawers. The cabinet was made in Antwerp in the 17th century. This piece of furniture rests on a turned torso base joined by a small brace. This work is from the 19th century. NB: a keyhole and a lock are missing. Minor detachments and accidents. Total dimensions: H. 135.5 - D. 32.5 - W. 89 cm.
