Description
Exceptional oak "tomb" chest of drawers. The wooden top is moulded with a spout. The strongly curved sides are divided by two panels with moulded frames. It opens with four drawers in three rows, the latter adorned with projecting mouldings. The curved legs are adorned with elegant mouldings. The unit stands on a cambered base with projecting scrolls. Decorated with varnished bronze drawer handles. Probably made in the North of France around 1750. NB: It has its locksmith's shop, no key, one lock detached. Very fine cabinetmaking. Height 87 - Depth 64 - Width 123 cm.
