A beautiful wall-mounted holy water font in gilded bronze, adorned with a plaque depicting the Baptism of Christ within a medallion framed by a torus of acanthus leaves, held in place by two putti bearing palms and draped over foliage against a scale-patterned background, flower garlands held in place by ribbons and, at the top, a pediment featuring a cross and cherubs holding palm fronds; rectangular basin with rounded sides decorated with angels and acanthus leaves; hinged lid. Late 19th to early 20th century. H. 33 cm, W. 18.5 cm. Minor wear to the gilding and distortion to the cross.
