Ghoum carpet (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), central Persia.
Circa 1940-1970
(Slight wear and fraying.)
Length: 264 cm; Width: 159 cm
The carpet is decorated with a large poly-lobed red medallion enhanced by a small poly-lobed polychrome medallion, extended by two pendants on an ivory background with stylised floral decoration. A narrow sky-blue border with a garland of multicoloured flowers surrounds the composition.
