This charming tapestry depicts a gallant scene in the grounds of a château. The scene is centred around two monumental figures who occupy the lower part of the composition. A young hunter, hat and arrow in hand, advances towards an elegant young woman sitting by a fountain. The delicate smiles of the two figures reinforce the gallant nature of the encounter. The central gap in the greenery reveals a sumptuous palace in the background. The fine border features alternating acanthus leaves and stylised fleurons.
The tapestry has retained its beautiful colours and the border is attached. The silks are worn. It is reduced in height and width.
