A pair of ormolu torches, decorated with foliage, piasters, shells and meanders, the shaft with flutes and garlands resting on a tripod base; (restorations and missing parts).
Based on a model from the early 1770s by the ornamentalist Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-1789).

A pair of candelabras consisting of a pair of identical torches topped by two arms of light once belonged to the collection of Hubert de Givenchy (his sale in Monaco, Christie's, 4 December 1993, lot 17). Another pair is illustrated in S. Faniel, Le XVIIe siècle français, Paris, 1956, p. 130.
