Émile BLANCHON (1845-1909) Unloading plaster on the quays of Paris Oil on canvas, signed lower left. Height 46.5 cm; Width: 74.5 cm Gilded wood frame (chips) with foliage and pearl motifs. Émile Blanchon, a decorative painter, took part in several decorative programmes. His work is particularly associated with the Hôtel de Ville in Paris, and more specifically the Galerie Lobau, where he contributed to the creation of a decorative ensemble of historical interest.
