CHINA, 18th-19th centuries
A celadon jade (nephrite) 'fangding' shaped incense burner, carved on the sides with taotie masks, the lid openworked with stylised foliage and surmounted by a coiled dragon holding a pearl. The slightly splayed legs are in the shape of fantastic animal heads.
