Ottoman Empire, probably Syria, Damascus, second half of the 18th-early 19th century.
Ottoman double door. Stuccoed and polychrome-painted woodwork in the 'ajami' technique, consisting of two door leaves mounted on a niche structure with an arched lintel. The leaves are decorated with monuments and floral bouquets in mandorles framed by scrolls and arabesques on a predominantly yellow background. Antique hardware. Assembled as a cupboard with removable shelves (many missing parts and accidents).
Total height: 190 cm; Width: 94 cm; dimensions of each leaf: 165 x 36 cm.
