An engraved maple pedestal table, the circular top decorated in the neo-Gothic style with landscapes depicting the Abbey of Sainte Trinité (also known as the Ladies' Abbey), with a shield bearing the Coat of Arms of Augustin Le Forestier de Vendeuvre and Louise de Valentin de Vitray Wicardel, and the inscription: Abbaye de Ste Trinité, hôpital aux soins de M. de Vendeuvre, resting on a columnar shaft with a triangular base; (accidents). Mid 19th century. Height 72 cm; Diameter: 63 cm. As mayor of Caen (Calvados), Augustin Le Forestier de Vendeuvre (1786-1862) transferred the Hôtel-Dieu from the town of Caen to the Abbaye aux Dames around 1820. This pedestal table commemorates the mayor of Caen's protective role towards his town's hospital. Expert : Pierre-François DAYOT.
