Aubusson carpet (flat carpet, tapestry technique), Charles X style. 19th century. (Wear and old restorations.) Length : 420 cm ; Width : 264 cm. This large carpet features a central ivory cruciform medallion decorated with a bouquet of flowers in ribbons, surrounded by garlands of flowers on a green background with stylised interlacing. The latter is prolonged by blue ribbons, bordered by wide, curved mouldings with acanthus leaves, intertwining at the centre of the side ends in a double scrolled arch.
