Melayer carpet (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), Northwest Persia, circa 1930-1970. (Wear, old restorations and probably diminished) Length: 346 cm; Width: 166 cm. This carpet is decorated with a large central red medallion in the shape of a tortoise on a blue-grey background and a polychrome counter-ground with small flowers.
