Melas carpet (warp, weft and wool pile), Western Turkey, circa 1880-1920. (Wear, discolouration, old restorations, damaged selvages and fraying). Length: 155 cm; Width: 130 cm. This carpet has a main cartouche decorated with a rust-coloured milhrab on an ivory background with geometric floral motifs.
