Sivas carpet (warp, weft and wool pile), central Turkey, north-east of Cappadocia. Circa 1930-1950. (Worn and frayed.) Length: 161 cm; Width: 100 cm. This carpet is embellished with numerous flowering trees and polychrome floral motifs on an ivory background. A wide ivory border with multicoloured floral medallions interlaced with floral scrolls is framed by four counter-borders.
