Note: Marazzi's Sperimentazioni are considered a significant experiment in combining art and industry, characterised by creative approaches to colour, material and decorative techniques - a far cry from standard industrial tiles. Roger Capron took part in these experimental projects for Marazzi at the end of the 1980s in the Il Crogiolo laboratory.
Provenance: Private collection of Erminio Martini, ceramic artist and founder of the "Il Crogiolo" research centre of the Italian company Marazzi Ceramiche (renowned ceramists, including Roger Capron and Raymond Peynet, collaborated with him), then passed on by descent.
