Description
An archaistic bronze and cloisonné enamel baluster vase with polychrome enamel decoration of Chinese flowers and foliage in the Ming style. It is flanked by two handles in the shape of chimera heads. On the base a moulded mark 高尾銅器合名會社造. Manufactured by Takao Dōki Gōmei Kaisha (Takao Copperware Manufactory). This mark is typical of Japanese production from the late Meiji, Taishō or early Shōwa era (late 19th - first half of the 20th century). Japan Early 20th century. Height: 30.5 cm
