Description
A box known as a ‘pot-pourri’ box
In gold lacquer on a black background with a gold foliage decoration, with a chiselled and gilded bronze mount in the Transition style. The oval-shaped box with a band is adorned with a frieze of openwork posts. It rests on four Greek-style feet and is fitted with ring-shaped side handles decorated with lion’s muzzles.
