Description
Standing writing desk in wood and wood veneer The upper section comprises a writing desk with a flap covered in gold-coloured morocco leather with small iron motifs, and a drawer at the front surmounted by a false drawer. The sides are adorned with small compartments and pull-out shelves. In the lower section, there are two drawers, one of which at the front slides out via a mechanism forming a writing surface, covered in gold-coloured morocco leather with small ironwork. The whole is united by a compartment encircled by a row of balusters. The tapered, fluted and serrated legs are finished at the ends with decorative brass fittings. Traces of a maker’s mark. Work from the early 19th century with elements from the 18th century. H.: 135 cm – W.: 82 cm – D.: 55 cm. (T-shaped restoration on one of the legs, minor damage to one of the balusters, cracks in the veneer, some of the rear drawer bottoms).
