Celtic Gaul, Lower Loire Valley (Andecavi?) Stater, late 2nd–early 1st century BC. Type featuring a heron with cloisonné decoration. AU 7.45 g. Obverse: Stylised head facing right, with the nose, eye, mouth and chin represented by dots. Two beaded cords extend from the top of the head and end in two small heads. Reverse: An androcephalic horse driven by a charioteer on the right holding a standard which falls in front of the horse. Between the legs, a reclining winged figure with a vertical wing.
