Commemorative medal marking the opening of the Gijón–Langreo line, commemorating its initial opening in 1852, 25 August 1852, AE 79 mm Condition: Superb and very rare. The railway line between Gijón and Langreo (the Langreo Railway) was one of the first and most important in Spain. It was built to transport coal from the mines in the Nalón basin (Langreo) to the port of Gijón, for export and for industrial use.
