Description
Monaco Decoration: ORDER OF SAINT CHARLES, 18-carat gold cross. The decoration consists of a gold cross with four arms in white enamel edged in red, adorned with eight gold points; at the centre of a medallion set in the middle of the cross, on one side, on red enamel, a double C with the Princely Crown, an inscription in gold on white enamel reading ‘PRINCEPS ET PATRIA***’ ; on the other side, a tapered shield in gules and argent, in red and white enamel, with the inscription on white enamel: DEO JUVANTE***. The cross, surrounded by a wreath of laurel and olive branches in green enamel, is surmounted by the Princely Crown in gold. The plaque consists of an eight-pointed silver star with diamond-shaped points; in the centre of the applied medallion, the double C and the inscription as above. A ribbon thirty-eight millimetres wide, composed of three vertical bands of equal width, the central one white and the other two red with a white border
