THE HOLY FAMILY (after Antonio Abondio). Medallion (95 x 70 mm excluding frame), single-sided bronze cast depicting the Holy Family with a child (St John the Baptist) presenting a basket of fruit to the Virgin, who is reaching for it with her left hand. Ref: Weber 649, Plate 174 for Abondio’s medallion. Louvre Museum. OA 9171. On the reverse, traces of a levelled handle. Condition: High-quality, lightweight cast bronze with a brown patina; the background has been reworked with a chisel. Superb frame. Early 18th century
