Description
THE CRUCIFIXION. Single-sided bronze cast (116 x 78 mm) by Galeazzo Mondella, known as Moderno (1467–1528). This famous plaque is very often framed (see Toderi B 143). There are also, though more rarely, contemporary examples without a frame, such as the example in the Bargello (Toderi 144) or Ecouen p. 61.8. Condition: Period cast with two suspension holes and, on the reverse, traces of a tin solder joint. Very good condition
