Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797–1861) Two triptychs of ōban prints, framed under glass: -One entitled ‘During the great battle between the Minamoto and the Taira clans in Akama Bay in Nagato Province, the Taira clan is utterly destroyed (Nagato no kuni Akama no ura ni oite Genpei ôgassen Heike ichimon kotogotoku horobiru zu)’, signed Ichiyûsai Kuniyoshi on each sheet, c. 1845/46, published by Enshûya Matabei. -One titled ‘Minamoto no Yoshitsune’s First Visit to Fujiwara no Hidehira’, signed by Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi on two sheets, and by Chôôrô Kuniyoshi on the right-hand sheet, circa 1843/47.
