Description
Pair of silver FLAMBEAUX WITH BOBECHES. PARIS, attributed to Jean-François ROUMIER (received master in 1788), 1787-1788. Circular base with fillets bordered by a frieze of leaves, recessed umbilicus decorated with canals, fluted shaft with foliate base following the example of the recessed spigot, plain bobèches. CR monogram engraved on the torches and wicks. Same hallmarks on the torches and wicks. Slight deformations, trace of repair to a bobèche and slight dent at the base of the shaft of one, crack. Height 28 cm; Weight 865 g.
