Description
Silver OSTENSOIR (950). PARIS, FAVIER Frères, ap. 1838 (Minerve). Rectangular base standing on four legs ending in lion's paws with matching foliage, decorated with a wide frieze of water leaves and on the sides of the foot of the Lamb with the seven seals gilded in appliqué on a radiant background on one side and on the other side of the Trinitarian Triangle. On the sides: bunches of grapes. The stem, with its leafy knot at the base, is adorned with two circular medallions featuring the heads of angels with the sacred heart and the tablets of the Law. It ends in a sheaf of wheat and bunches of grapes from which emerges the radiant glory centred on the lunette for the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. The latter is surrounded by angels' heads in clouds and surmounted by a cross decorated with flowers and ovals. Traces of repairs to the base of several spokes, to the top of the stem and to the upper arm of the summit cross (welds, deformation of several spokes and breakage). Height 52.5 cm; Width (spokes) 24 cm; Gross weight 623 g.
