1 large volume in-4 in cloth-covered slipcase, contemporary binding in full brown glazed calf, gilt and cold decoration with Duseuil-style framing, arms in the centre of the boards, ribbed spine with gilt author, title, irons and date, gilt head (binding by Samblant 1914). Some rubbing from use, spine a little soiled. Edition of 350 copies, this one of seventy-five copies on Japon impérial numbered from 76 to 150, bears the number 96. A nominative copy printed especially for Baron Emile de Cartier de Marchienne (1871/1946), a Belgian diplomat and ambassador to London during the Second World War. His coat of arms is gilt on the boards. A very clean copy with no foxing, beautiful colour illustrations by Amédée Lynen.
